Skybet have opened up markets on a number of players, we take a look at five names they have made Chelsea favourites to sign - Includes Manchester United star.
Luke Shaw - 5/1 - Southampton
Luke Shaw is highly touted to be the man to take over Ashley Cole's berth at Chelsea, and I would be surprised if he isn't made a Blues player either in January or the summer. According to Skybet, Chelsea currently lead the group of eight that are in for the player, including the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Southampton will be keen to keep hold of their man as long as possible, but with the potential he is showing will find it hard not to allow him to move on in the future.
Stephan El Shaarawy - 5/1 - AC Milan
Out-of-favour winger El Shaarawy has been linked with a possible move to the Bridge according to the bookies and have been priced at low-odds along with Real Madrid and Manchester City. El Shaarawy is reportedly looking for a kick-start to his career after things went a little stale in Milan, a move to Chelsea could be a good one for the player that still has something to prove.
Christian Benteke - 11/2 - Aston Villa
Chelsea and Tottenham lead the race for the Aston VIlla striker, with Chelsea just edging out their London rivals for his signature. Benteke hasn't hit the levels he did last season just yet, but has stlll shown himself to be a useful asset for Villa. They may be more likely to allow their man to leave since his form has died down, and whoever goes in for him could strike a good deal for the player.
Radamel Falcao - 6/1 - Monaco
One of the most talked about players with regards to a move to the Bridge in January is former Atletico frontman Radamel Falcao. The player has commented on different occasions about the speculation from Chelsea and has seemingly left the door open for Mourinho to go and grab his man. Whether Chelsea will put their hands deep enough in their pocket to grab their man is another question. It's certainly isn't going to be a cheap one.
Wayne Rooney - 6/1 - Manchester United
And finally, the long-term interest in Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. Although Rooney has been on red-hot form and playing week-in, week-out for United, the door could still be forced open by the player. United look lost at the minute, and on several occasions Rooney has had to pull the club through the mud and single handed won them more than his fair share of points this season. If Chelsea can get through Manchester United's firewall and talk to the player, then I believe he could be enticed to join Mourinho at the Bridge. But, I still feel like any deal regarding these parties is unlikely, at least until the summer.
