Forget the recently returned from injury Benik Afobe, or new signing Yaya Sanogo, for the best strike hope in Arsenal's youth set up at present may just be Chuba Akpom.
The 18-year-old striker bagged 10 goals in his last 10 games for the under-21 side at the end of last season, enough to earn himself a place on Arsenal's pre-season tour.
Akpom didn't waste any time opening his first team account, scoring three goals in two games including a winner in a 2-1 victory over Urawa Red Diamonds.
This season he has stayed on the fringes of the first team only, playing one minute in the Premier League back in September, and 39 minutes in the Capital One Cup.
He has this season scored three goals in four UEFA Youth League games, continuing his development.
Last night on Twitter he revealed one of his idols is Chelsea hero Didier Drogba, who will head back to Stamford Bridge with Galatasaray in the Champions League next year.
The Bridge isn't the only ground Drogba enjoyed playing. The Ivorian had a superb record against Arsenal home and away, netting 13 goals against the Gunners.
He even scored against them in a pre-season friendly in the Emirates Cup, and Akpom even got the chance to meet his inspiration.
It's unclear as yet whether Akpom can go onto become a genuine superstar Arsenal desire him to be, but he is on the right path at present and has a real shot.
If he can start off by scoring goals at The Emirates like Drogba did, but this time in an Arsenal shirt when he gets the chance - then fans will begin to believe that next time there is a striker crisis, he can be the one to step up and fill the void.
