Some of the key stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday morning including transfer speculation, and a player of the year gong...
Serie A side Napoli have launched a bid for defender Daniel Agger on loan in January, according to many publications in the national press.
The story first appeared in The Times, and if the approach for the Liverpool vice-captain is not entertained, a permanent bid could be made by the Italian club. Liverpool rejected a £15m bid from La Liga giants Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
The report indicates that the Reds will face competition from Arsenal for the Greek international, with a fee of around £7.5m believed to be enough to land the forward.
Striker Luis Suarez has picked up another accolade at the Football Supporters Federation awards ceremony. The Uruguayan picked up the player of the year award at the Emirates Stadium and thanked the Liverpool supporters for warming to him after the shenanigans of the summer.
He said: ‘After so many difficult for me I was able to win the supporters back, and that was unbelievable when I came back to play.
‘They helped me, and that was important for me, for my confidence, and for my family, because they are together with me in this.’
Suarez has said that if Liverpool can keep up their performance level this season then they can challenge for either the league title or the top four.
‘It’s important we concentrate and focus on the next game. We know that after Cardiff we have two very, very big games. That will be important to what comes next.’
Toure said: ‘Of course we don’t want to lose him to another team. You can see that everyone from this team wants to improve the club and try and win a trophy.
‘Luis said he wants to be part of a team that can win a trophy and I think now he can see that all the players want to fight and want to try to win this title definitely.’
