HITC AM: Featuring Pochettino, Solskjaer and Agger

Pochettino

Developing overnight stories concerning Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United.

The obvious story to watch today concerns White Hart Lane and Tottenham Hotspur fans.

While no new managerial appointment is thought to be imminent, the names linked with the job keep coming thick and fast with several sources putting forward the name of Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino overnight.

Another open managerial position lays a bit further North at West Brom and a Manchester United legend is being strongly tipped for that job.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is one of the candidates to take over the Baggies with speculation growing over his position at FC Molde after he delayed contract talks with his current side.

A Liverpool story worth keeping an eye on today relates to central defender Daniel Agger.

News broke during the night that Italian side Napoli are interested in taking the Dane on loan for the rest of the season. Agger has played just nine times for Liverpool this season, unable to force his way back into the team following an injury in the gym.

Sticking in Merseyside, another interesting development relates to Everton and young midfielder Ross Barkley.

Sky Bet have opened up a market on which club Barkley will be playing for at the end of January and the current 6/1 favourites are David Moyes’ Manchester United with Everton not even appearing as an option.

Napoli are again in the news with a story last night which suggested they could make a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Pepe Reina is the current number one at the Serie A club but with him expected to move to Barcelona at the end of the season, Napoli will be looking for another goalkeeper.
