It's hard to say Bayern Munich underestimated Arsenal last season, but their confidence in their own abilities led them to believe the Gunners wouldn't be able to beat them.
After their 3-1 away win was reversed to 3-3 in the second leg, with Bayern sneaking through on away goals after an almighty fright.
This time around the German side are definitely worried, for Arsenal's win at the Allianz Arena still burns brightly in the mind.
Jerome Boateng and Phillip Lahm both discussed the tough draw yesterday, and now fellow defender Dante has added his concern into the mix.
It is no coincidence they are all defenders, worried about Arsenal's attacking players which can tear them apart.
Dante even insisted the reigning Champions League winners are not favourites to win the tie. He told Bild:
"It is a very, very difficult game. We must be very, very concentrated in both legs.
"Arsenal has brought a couple of world class players and is stronger than last season.
"The first of England against the First of Germany, since there are no favorites."
Dante's comment about Arsenal signing 'a couple' of world class players made us think though. Is he counting Ozil as two because he is just so good?
Or is he just being prepared that Arsenal are going to add a world class striker to their squad in January?
Bayern CEO Karl Heinz Rumminegge was also far from happy:
"There are more pleasant opponents, but you can not change it. Arsenal is an enemy that must be treated very respectfully. I would rather have played against Zenit, but it is not a request concert."
Bayern are certainly worried, but new boss Pep Guardiola knows what he is up against, having faced Arsenal and beaten them with Barcelona on more than one occasion.
It may just be that with the Germans taking this tie even more seriously than last year, it could be bad news for Arsenal if they approach the games with even more added intensity and focus.
