Transfer Talk: Featuring Dzeko, Young and Khedira

Transfer news from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Fulham and more.

As plenty of Tottenham fans discuss the future of manager Andre Villas-Boas today, several sources have suggested Spurs are front runners to sign Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian is not first choice up front for Manchester City and with Spurs on the look out for additional attacking support, they could be tempted into making a move for the front man.

On the other side of North London, reports are suggesting that Arsenal have joined the race to sign £12 million rated German sensation Kevin Volland. The 21-year-old Hoffenheim winger is apparently being tracked by up to five Premier League clubs with the Gunners right in the mix to sign him.

On the West side of London, Chelsea are making the news with their interest in both Fredy Guarin and Andrea Ranocchia of Inter Milan. The Express has reported that Chelsea scouts have been extensively monitoring the development of 25-year-old Ranocchia, a potential replacement for David Luiz.

The Mirror has suggested that David Moyes is close to making a move for Sami Khedira at Real Madrid. United were linked with the German last summer who is currently suffering with a knee injury and it will take around £20 million to grab Real Madrid’s attention.

Another Manchester United story relates to a player who could be leaving the club, Ashley Young. The Daily Mail has suggested that former side Aston Villa would be interesting in taking Young on a winter transfer with the fee being mentioned around the £8 million mark.

Fulham could be boosted through the January arrival of former striker Clint Dempsey. The American is thought to be available on a loan deal from MLS side Seattle Sounders, which could pave the way for Bryan Ruiz to move to Belgian side Anderlecht.

Sunderland, West Ham United and Hull City are all being linked with moves for Lorient defender Lamine Kone. The 24-year-old signed a contract extension at the club last summer but has not closed the door on a potential exit.

“It was not impossible for me to leave this summer, even though there has not been any concrete proposals. I extended for three years, but if there is a good offer, Lorient will not say ‘no’,” he said last summer.
