Manchester United transfer news: Koke rules out January move; teenage attacker linked

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke in the last few weeks. In fact David Moyes was himself seen at the recent match between the Spanish side and FC Porto, ramping the rumours up to another level.

But the player himself has now seemingly ruled out a move in the upcoming transfer window.

Inside Futbol reports on stories from Spain that claim Koke has no desire to leave halfway through what looks like being a hugely successful season for Atletico. With a World Cup also just round the corner, the player is said to not want to risk his place in Spain’s squad by changing clubs – and countries – in the New Year.

For once it is a transfer story that makes perfect sense. Now Moyes needs to decide if he puts his interest on the back-burner or moves for an able alternative.

In other transfer news, the Mirror claims United are interested in 18-year-old attacking midfielder Otavinho.

The teenager currently plays for Brazilian side Internacional – the club another oft-mooted United target, Bruno Gomes, agreed to join only last week.

With the two players now playing together, we brought you a story last night suggesting Gomes’s dream to play at Old Trafford may not be over, if United scouts are watching a teenager he is soon to turn out alongside that is.
