There will be numerous exchanges between three-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi and his Argentina international team-mate Sergio Aguero as their respective clubs Barcelona and Manchester City were drawn together in the Champions League knockout round at a ceremony earlier today, Monday, in Nyon, Switzerland.
The attackers are amongst the most ruthless goal-scorers in world football on current form but, while Messi has a proven reliability to return a near goal per game average, Aguero is fast turning into an even more unforgiving shot convertor.
Thus far this season Messi has returned eight goals and four assists from 11 appearances in Spain's Primera Division while Aguero, in contrast, has been far more productive, scoring 13 and assisting a further four times in 15 appearances (or one goal/assist for every 66 minutes he is on the field).
Their goal and assist haul may even be a hot topic during their texting as both competitors may attempt to outscore the other during their two European matches…
Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain confirmed on Sky Sports: '[There will no doubt be lots of] text messages between Barcelona and and Manchester City and they will be between Messi and Aguero!'
