Liverpool teen target dropped from squad after dressing room row

Manchester City are also said to be keeping tabs on Balde Keita of Lazio ... but his recent behaviour might put them off.

Some people are born with a natural talent - for some people that is to play football. One of those people is Balde Keita.

The Spanish born Senegalese forward immediately saw his talents recognised by one of the worlds biggest and best football academies - Barcelona.

Keita spent seven years in the Barcelona youth team before things went sour in 2010. He played a practical joke on a team-mate in Qatar when the club went away on tour. One ice cube in a team-mates bed soon saw him punished by being sent out on loan to Cornelia and he never returned to Barca.

He scored 47 goals for Cornelia than rejected Barca - moving to Lazio in the summer of 2011 for a small fee.

This season has been his breakout year in Rome. The 18-year-old has scored two goals for the club in 13 appearances and that has seen the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City taking a close look at the player.

But events today, couple with his past in the Barca youth team, may make the reconsider.

Because with all due respect, this guy sounds like trouble.

He was dropped from the squad for Lazio’s weekend tie with Livorno for a disciplinary matter. It is reported he got in a heated row with a team-mate at training on Saturday - believed to be Romanian defender Stefan Radu.

After the game his coach Vladimir Petkovic explained:

“It was a technical decision. In my view the most important thing is the group, it doesn’t matter if you are young, old, experienced or green, you have to respect the group. He will be back from tomorrow and everyone has to prove themselves on the pitch. At the end of the day we can only get results by working together.”

Surely he sounds like one to avoid for now.
