The rematch of last years round of 16 in Champions League is going to be a exciting one. The Premier League’s first placed team against rhe Bundesliga’s first placed team. Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich, just like last year.

The fixture will bring back some good memories for Arsene Wenger and his side as the Gunners almost went to the quarterfinals by beating Bundesliga’s record winner in Munich 2-0 but fell short at Emirates Stadium due to their 1-3 first leg defeat. Munich famously went onto lift the trophy.
Even so it was an encouraging performance by Arsenal considering the run Bayern Munich had and still have.
German tabloid Bild made the argument before the draw that Arsenal will have just a 30% chance to win against the last year’s treble winner. A compliment considering the lesser chances the daily gave other potential opponents.
Officials of Bayern Munich agreed with that.
“There were more manageable and easier opponents in the hat. But we can’t change it,” Karl-Munich’s chairman Heinz Rummenigge was cited. “We know we have to approach Arsenal with great respect, and that’s what we’ll do. We’ll have to turn in two very good performances.“
Manchester City reject Jerome Boateng said: “They’re the toughest opponents we could have had. They’ll be totally up for it after what happened last year. Both matches will be very intense.“
Fans of the Bavarian team seem to be on the same page as Twitter shows:
