Earlier in the week a new name was linked with signing for Arsenal in the winter … yes, yet another.
This player however caught the eye of many an Arsenal fan because of the tag being associated to him for the future - he is the ‘new Dennis Bergkamp’.
Being compared to the Arsenal legend is certainly something not to be done lightly, so there is no doubt that Davy Klaassen is a very talented footballer.
Arsenal reportedly sent scouts to check him out in action against NAC Breda last Saturday where he slammed home a hat-trick beyond the opposing goalkeeper.
That took him to six goals in 11 appearances - but today he has taken his tally to seven.
Klaassen was the hero for Ajax today as he scored in the 92nd minute to earn all three points away from home at Cambuur.
Lasse Schone had given Ajax the lead, from a Klaassen assist, before Michiel Hemmen equalised with eight minutes left on the clock. Former PSV Eindhoven midfielder Marcel Ritzmaier was then sent off - and a minute later Klaassen settled the tie.
At the age of 20 he certainly seems like one for the future - and after yet another match-winning performance he might just be worth an Arsenal investment.
