Recently signed for Internacional, Manchester United are said to be eyeing one of the striker's new teammates.
Manchester United missing out on Bruno Gomes was one of the more frustrating recent decisions for fans in the transfer market, and there have been a few.
The teenage striker was until last week, playing for Desportivo Brasil, a developmental side in Brazil with who Manchester United have a partnership agreement.
Gomes even visited Old Trafford, met Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney a year ago, before the club got cold feet on a deal this year, even despite the prospect scoring seven goals in a single game.
The striker signed for Internacional in Brazil last week, expressing his disappointment via Twitter not to see his dream move come off.
But is there hope?
Reports over the weekend in The Mirror claim that Manchester United are interested in Internacional attacker Otavinho.
The 18-year-old has eight goals in 21 games since making his debut in the Brasileirao this season, giving hope he can become one of the bright talents of his generation.
If the reports are accurate then it gives hope to Gomes, who has just signed for the very same side.
If United are scouting Otavinho who is performing well for the club, then if Gomes is doing the same next season he too can re-announce himself on their radar.
It's all over to him from here, he has to go and prove himself next season, and then next, and if he continues to shine then a move to United could just end up happening.
