Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Stamford Bridge earlier today.
Chelsea held on to defeat Crystal Palace this afternoon, with goalkeeper Petr Cech far busier than he probably expected.
The Blues went ahead in the 16th minute, when Fernando Torres scored an easy effort. But Chelsea's lead lasted only 13 minutes, before the rejuvenated Marouane Chamakh equalised with a fine volley.
Ramires ensured Jose Mourinho's men went in at half-time in the lead, curling in an effort with 10 minutes to play until the break. And in the second-half it was over to Cech to repel a series of Palace attacks and ensure his side held on for the victory.
The Eagles are a different side under Tony Pulis, and on another day could have taken at least a point from Stamford Bridge. As it was, Chelsea climbed to second in the table, two points behind leaders Arsenal, while Palace remain in the relegation zone, in 18th place.
