One of the stars of this summer’s FIFA under-17 World Cup was Sweden forward Valmir Berisha. He scored seven goals in seven games for the nation as they made it to the semi-finals of the competition - and the interest in his services has been predictable.
He recently revealed that he had even rejected trials at United and Arsenal - adding to his ‘next Zlatan’ tag:
"I have rejected other clubs who have invited me for trials. For example, Arsenal and Manchester United. It is Real Madrid now, the club of my dreams.
"I am keen to go there, but I think I will turn it down, unfortunately. I do not know, maybe I will go there anyway."
It seems this is how Liverpool, who have recently been installed as favourites for his signature, have managed to get to the front of the queue - by agreeing to sign him off the bat, without a trial period.
But they have competition - as a new team join the party.
That team is CSKA Moscow, and they have plenty to offer.
They would also not ask for a trial period to take place before signing - and also have the likes of Pontus Wernbloom and Rasmus Elm to convince him to join them in the Russian capital.
According to Izvestia the club are also ready to fast-track him straight to the first team in order to incentivise a Russian switch ahead of the Premier League.
