It's no Ballon d'Or, but a Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City star will each surely be pleased to learn he has been named by UEFA.com as one of the best 11 players from the group stages of the Europa League.
Jan Vertonghen and Jordi Amat are the only players from Premier League clubs to be selected, a credit to their sides.
The XI is as follows:
Vladislav Stoyanov (Ludogrets Razgrad); Gonzalo Rodriguez (Fiorentina), Nick Viergiver (AZ Alkmaar), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordi Amat (Swansea City); Bebras Natcho (Rubin Kazan), Hans Henrik Andreasen (Ebsjerg), Fabien Camus (Genk); Andriy Yarmoleko (Dynamo Kiev), Olcan Adin (Trabzonspor), Alan (Salzburg).
21-year-old Amat has made six Europa League appearances for Swansea, but just three in the Premier League by contrast, starring as they kept a clean sheet in Valencia.
Jan Vertonghen meanwhile has made just two Europa League starts in the competitions for Spurs, with two more appearances from the bench, and scored one goal away to FC Sheriff.
