Suarez, Aguero & more - The Premier League strikers to watch out for this weekend

Sergio Aguero, Olivier Giroud, Romelu Lukaku, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez should all be in action this weekend. And that means goals!

The Premier League is well and truly in festive mood.

Christmas is near - and so too is a barrage of football fixtures.

This week is no exception, with the weekend's games set up nicely to see some goalmouth action.

Let's take a look at the strikers that could be scoring them...

Sergio Aguero

The Manchester City forward is in supreme form this season, having scored 12 league goals so far this term.

And, a man for the big occasion, Aguero will be raring to go against Arsenal. The Argentine has already proved his credentials against a top London side this season with a superb finish against Chelsea, while he will be in prime condition after being rested for City's win over Bayern Munich.

With the likes of David Silva and Samir Nasri behind him, meanwhile, Aguero will be in receipt of only the finest service.

Olivier Giroud

Leading the line against Aguero's side will be 27-year-old Giroud - and the Frenchman is not shy of a goal or two himself this season.

Although Arsenal can rely on their creative midfield for goals, Giroud has already netted seven times in the Premier League this season. And it will take the best of Vincent Kompany and co. to stop him.

If Arsene Wenger can get his tactics right at the Etihad Stadium, Giroud could be in for a good day at the races. But he will have to be at his very best.

Romelu Lukaku

One of the driving forces behind his Everton side this campaign, Belgium striker Lukaku could be in for a prolific weekend.

Roberto Martinez's men are up against Fulham on Saturday and could jump back into the top-four places if other results work in their favour.

Cue Lukaku and what could be a goal glut. Rene Meulensteen's side may have stopped the rot with a 2-0 win against Aston Villa last weekend - but it will take a mammoth effort to stop the Beast of Belgium.

Wayne Rooney

With Robin van Persie struggling for fitness and failing to register a shot on target against Newcastle, the goalscoring burden might fall on Rooney for Manchester United this Sunday.

David Moyes' side travel to Aston Villa and Rooney will fancy his chances against the likes of Ron Vlaar and Matt Lowton.

The England striker has been in good form this season, though his goals tally has not quite kept up with those at the top of the scorers' charts. Now is his chance to change that.

Luis Suarez

The star of the season so far - and arguably last term too - Liverpool forward Suarez will relish the challenge of taking on Tottenham on Sunday.

The 26-year-old is the Premier League's top scorer after 15 games and few would back against him to net at White Hart Lane this weekend.

It will be up to Michael Dawson to stand in the Uruguayan's way - and the Spurs defender is probably more worried about that than anyone. That says it all.
