Tottenham Hotspur manager does not want to return to his former club.
In order to reach the final of the Europa League, a competition manager Andre Villas-Boas has great experience in having won the tournament with FC Porto in 2011, the Tottenham Hotspur boss hopes his Lilywhites can avoid a tough tie that would be too 'personal' for him.
Potential opposition in the first knockout round, drawn on Monday in Nyon could pair Spurs with marquee trips to Juventus, Lazio or Ajax but Andre Villas-Boas would want to keep his new employer away from Porto if 'if it possible' as 'one a personal level I would not like that'.
Porto have the most stringent defence in the whole of Portugal, are blessed with a highly efficient rearguard including Eliaquim Mangala, Maicon, Danilo and Alex Sandro while also boasting one of the most in-form and in-demand strikers in world football; Jackson Martinez.
As quoted by ESPN, the Portuguese continued: 'Our aim is to go all the way to the final and I wouldn't like that [to face Porto]. I have tremendous gratitude to the club and I'm a great fan so hopefully that doesn't happen until the final.'
