All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…
Will the Blues crush the Gunners the way they have practically every other visitor to the Etihad this season? Or will Arsenal reinforce their title credentials by winning away? All will be revealed in due course.
In early teams news, City are likely to field a starting line-up featuring Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero – who all missed Tuesday’s triumph in Munich.
While Arsenal can call on Lukas Podolski for the first time in three months, although with the German lacking match fitness his only action is likely to be from the bench.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini believes his side holds no advantage over Arsenal despite having an extra day’s rest.
Arsene Wenger’s men played Napoli 24 hours after City had beaten Bayern Munich in their own backyard, but speaking to FourFourTwo, the Chilean dismissed suggestions that it played into the Blues’ hands.
“Maybe our match was not exactly the same but I don’t think that will be an advantage or those things will decide the game,” Pellegrini said.
“I think the way both teams will play will be more important.”
And finally, Wenger has also had his say in the build-up to the game, suggesting that he wouldn’t swap his squad for Pellegrini’s.
In quotes published in the Telegraph, the Frenchman said, “City has a very strong squad, I don’t deny that, but I look at my squad and I think – I don’t envy them.”
Perhaps he will change his tune come the final whistle tomorrow, but then again…
