11 impressive Premier League stats ahead of this weekend's action

Sunderland Fans

Sunderland, Tottenham, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea feature.

5 – Sunderland have already scored 5 own goals in their opening 15 Premier League games. The Black Cats travel to West Ham on Saturday; a team who would happily take any sort of goal this weekend with their form, or rather, lack of form their strikers have been in this season. The Hammers scored two own goals themselves in a 4-1 loss at Liverpool last weekend. Leicester City currently hold the record for most own goals in a single season when they put 8 in their own net during the 2003-04 season.

6 – Tottenham have taken 6 points from a possible 21 against current top 10 sides. André Villas-Boas’ sides only victory against a current top half team came in a 1-0 home win over Swansea City back in August. Spurs have drawn against Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United, but lost to Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester City. Tottenham host second-placed Liverpool on Sunday.

9 – Manchester United head into this weekend’s fixtures closer to the relegation zone than they are to leaders Arsenal. David Moyes’ side are only 9 points above Fulham who occupy the top place in the relegation zone, whilst the defending champions trail leaders Arsenal by 13 points.

10 – Crystal Palace have as many points in their last 5 Premier League matches as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Manchester City.

13 – Arsenal have led in 13 of their 15 Premier League matches this season. Last weekend, Everton became the first side since Aston Villa on the opening day to take points off the Gunners after falling behind.

15 – Heading into the 16th matchday of the season, Luis Suárez has scored more Premier League goals than seven Premier League clubs. Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, Sunderland, Hull City, West Ham, Fulham and Norwich City have all scored less than the Uruguayan. Liverpool travel to Tottenham on Sunday.

15 – Everton have taken more points from sides currently in the top half than any other side in the Premier League so far this season. Roberto Martínez’s side collected their 15th point last Sunday in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

16 – Arsenal’s collection of 16 points from 7 away league games is the best record in the Premier League. The Gunners will be pushed to increase this tally when they travel to a Manchester City side on Saturday who are 7/7 at home this season having scored 29 goals and conceded just 2.

17 – José Mourinho’s Chelsea have conceded more goals this season (17) than during his first season in charge back in 2004-05 (15). Chelsea have conceded 3 goals in each of their last two league matches but perhaps their clean sheet midweek in the Champions League can boost their confidence in shutting out Crystal Palace whom they host on Saturday.

67 – In order for Manchester United to match last season’s points tally, the Red Devils would need to win 22 of their final 23 Premier League matches this season and draw the remainder. David Moyes’ side are currently on course to fall somewhere short.

1,626 – Danny Graham ended his 28-game Premier League droubt without a goal when he scored against his former side Swansea City on Monday night during Hull City’s 1-1 draw. The former Middlesbrough youngster had failed to score a league goal during his spell at Sunderland before netting his first goal for Hull City against the side he scored his previous Premier League goal for, Swansea City versus Aston Villa on New Year’s Day 2013 – 1,626 minutes before opening the score at the Liberty Stadium on Monday.
