Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has been criticising his own manager again.
One loss. That's all it took.
Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan is already criticising Arsene Wenger.
Rattled by the Gunners' tough Champions League opponents they could draw - Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, Real, or Atletico - he argues like many their forward line is not strong enough.
However his problem comes in the argument that Arsene Wenger is not trying to sign a forward.
Our next CL opponents boast Messi & Neymar, Ronaldo & Bale, Ibra & Cavani, Pizarro & Mandzukic & Robben, Costa & Villa. We have Giroud. #Afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 11, 2013
Not knocking Giroud, he always gives 100%. But we can't compete at that level without adding a world class striker to the squad. #Afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 11, 2013
I keep 'banging on' about the need for a top striker because Wenger's showing no sign of thinking we need to buy one. He's wrong. #Afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 11, 2013
Wenger recently gave mixed messages as per his intent to sign a top striker, but the Frenchman is a shrewd manager and keen student of economics.
He knows as well as anybody if he comes out and declares his intentions, prices of any forward he wants to sign will shoot up.
Wenger can handle the pressure, so doesn't mind making a rod for his own back, but supporters should probably relax and place their faith in the manager - after all he struck gold in Mesut Ozil and may just do it again...
