Young Swedish star Joel Mumbongo has revealed that the west London club have invited him to train at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are believed to have been monitoring young Swedish star Joel Mumbongo – a 14-year-old who played for Orgryte IS.
The teenager has revealed to media in his homeland that Jose Mourinho’s men have been watching him and have invited him to train at the club.
"Chelsea came to a friendly game against Halmstad and saw me. They made contact with my father, and then they came to more matches,” he told GP.
"They have followed me this past year and we've talked a lot. They want me to go and train with the club.”
Looking at Mumbongo’s Twitter page, with a modest 226 followers, the prospects status says: “Football for OIS: Next stop: Chelsea Football Club.”
Mumbongo is renowned for his athletic ability back in Sweden, as he is his nation’s fastest 300m runner and has also been setting records in the high jump.
At this stage in his career little is known about the teenager, who is yet to represent OIS’ senior side, but it appears that Chelsea have been running the rule over the youngster.
