Manchester United transfer news: Koke talks about Moyes; striker again linked with exit

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

It is being widely reported this morning that David Moyes was in attendance for the Champions League match between Atletico Madrid and FC Porto last night. But attempting to second-guess who he was there to see is a feat in itself, considering the number of players at both clubs recently linked with Manchester United.

However one player has been more heavily linked than most – the Spanish side’s midfielder Koke.

But speaking to Canal+ last night, he appeared to dismiss the speculation tipping him for a move to Old Trafford.

I didn’t know he was there,” Koke said of Moyes. “I’m not worried. I renewed my contract this summer.”

Could that be yet another midfielder ruling out a switch to a club in dire need of one? We will have to wait until at least the end of next summer to find out for certain.

In other news, the Mirror reports that Chelsea may make a fresh bid for Wayne Rooney in light of the stories claiming he has rejected the chance to negotiate a new contract with Moyes’ men.

With only 18 months to run, it appears that the next six of those will be crucial in determining where Rooney plays in the future.

Expect the England man to be at the forefront of the rumour mill for both this transfer window and the next…
