From loser to winner in not more then three minutes. Malaga all over again. This is how one could summarise Twitter reactions by fans after Borussia Dortmund won last night against Olympique de Marseille.
Dortmund fans are raving now. Because it looked like, after the 1-1 draw by Olympique de Marseille after 14 minutes and the lead by SSC Napoli over Arsenal, that the Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund wouldn’t make it to the knock-out stage.
But like last year’s game against Malaga CF, in which Jurgen Klopp’s team made two goals after regulation and two minutes added to win it 3-2 for a ticket to the half final, it went down to the wire last night as well.
All-round talent Kevin Großkreutz netted the winner with a wobbling shot and was allowed to drink a beer after the match, Klopp said.
Dortmund can now hope for an easy pickings game as they finished first in their group despite Arsenal’s early lead. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger’s Premier League side lost the game and might face treble winner Bayern Munich or another group winner.
Here is how Borussia Dortmund fans react on Twitter.
"I'm very proud we got it because throughout the group stage we've had problems, with red cards, injuries and so on" ~ Miki #bvb— Laly #7⭐ (@SweetLaly) December 12, 2013
Malaga, Madrid, Marseille. BVB is only able to play with drama. Next stop Mailand, Manchester?
I said weeks ago that it'd be an incredible achievement to make it out of this group without Gündogan and Piszczek. Now look at this. #BVB— Nessa (@nessa1909) December 11, 2013
The man of the night: Kevin Grosskreutz "I must have got 5000 texts. It is non-stop"
@aadgym I thought he was really impressive, very calm! Didn't look like it was his first CL match yesterday!— Sandra Goldschmidt (@SanBorussia) December 12, 2013
