Arsenal fans on Twitter: No Ramsey is like thumbless playing foosball

Aaron Ramsey

Gunners take to social media to complain over how the team are performing without their star player of the season.

Arsenal are currently tied 0-0 with Napoli as both sides head into the dressing-rooms at half-time, however, while the result is enough to secure the North London club's progression into the knockout stages of the Champions League, the fans on social media are less than pleased over how seemingly pedestrian the team looks without players such as Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.

The British pair have been given a rest. The latter, in particular, has played 1,950 minutes of competitive football so far this season and, with a plethora of important Premier League matches - a division where they hold a five point lead over second-placed Liverpool - Arsene Wenger has presumably rested them both so that they are fresher for the December 14 trip to Manchester City.

In order to fail to make the next stage of Europe, Arsenal need to ensure they do not lose by a three goal margin. On current form, though, they do not look like conceding due to the positional sense, intercepting nous and clearing ability of defensive duo Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.

The game, though, has not made for pleasant viewing for some members of the TV audience, who likened Arsenal's creation and attack to like watching 'two thumbless people play foosball' and that the flair-players like Ramsey and pacey wingers like Theo Walcott are required if the club are to return to England with points.
