Didier Drogba has scored more goals against Arsenal than any other club in his career.
So it says a lot about the esteem he is now held in by all supporters around the globe that it is an Arsenal fan offering to help him out when it comes to a disciplinary issue.
Drogba unexpectedly caused controversy in what he would have expected to be an innocent tribute to the late Nelson Mandela, who died last week.
His shirt underneath his Galatasaray kit read simply 'Thank you Madiba', but this was something the Turkish Football Federation took exception to.it.
Their rules forbid any kind of political messages being displayed by players - and he is due to attend a hearing along with teammate Emmanuel Eboue, formerly of Arsenal, who also wore his own tribute.
Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has since stepped forward to offer to pay for Didier Drogba's fine if he receives - no mention of Eboue, perhaps he forgot about him, or is still haunted by an old defensive howler or two.
We would imagine that the TFF will go easy on the pair and make an exception, but whatever the fine - we are sure Didier Drogba can afford it.
