The ever-quotable Blues boss came out with a cracker two weeks before Christmas.
Chelsea have failed to keep their sheets clean on every outing since their 3-0 victory over West Ham United in East London.
At the time of Basel's 1-0 win at the end of November, Southampton's early goal at Stamford Bridge, the fluctuating scoreline at Sunderland and certainly the 3-2 loss at Stoke City, it would have been unlikely that manager Jose Mourinho would have been amused at his side's porous defence.
However, time - they say - is a natural healer and it appears the Portuguese is now able to make light of the situation and, ahead of his side's hosting of Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League on Wednesday, December 11, Mourinho explained that even the motionless dummies on the training ground are able to score against his team.
On the defensive frailties in his side, Mourinho told the media: 'At the moment if we do defensive training against the dummies I think the dummies will score!'
Mourinho was also speaking through a translator, but was talking naturally, as if to an exclusively British press but, recognising that his translator would have had to remember and then translate the conference in another language, Jose gave him a signed shirt.
