Manchester United transfer news: RVP hails partnership; Liverpool to challenge £15m deal?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

With the January transfer window fast-approaching, Manchester United are being linked with moves for reported transfer targets both old and new.

It would not be a transfer window without the English champions being tipped for a move for Wesley Sneijder, and the Guardian reported yesterday afternoon that David Moyes may do what Sir Alex Ferguson could not and bring the Dutch maestro in from Galatasaray.

With a reported release-clause of £13million, that what prove something of a bargain. However, it is Sneijder’s wages that could be a decisive factor.

Then again, any talk of a Sneijder move could be a mere smokescreen as Moyes attempts to secure a deal for Brazilian Everton Ribeiro.

The 24-year-old has made no secret of his desire to move to Old Trafford, but Sky Sports reports that Liverpool could attempt a move of their own for a player crowned the best in the Brazilian league this season, and rated at around £15million by current club Cruzeiro.

And finally, Robin van Persie has ignored the rumours linking him with a move away from Old Trafford, instead focusing on the renewal of his partnership with Wayne Rooney.

As United prepare to face Shakhtar Donetsk this evening, the Dutchman told the Express, “We both realise that we are better playing together, because then we are stronger. That’s the main thing in any partnership.”

Given that belief, surely he has no intention of leaving Old Trafford…or does he?
