Ex Tottenham Hotspur boss signs a player previously on the books at Liverpool and Arsenal.
The last time he kicked a ball in a competitive match was May 8, 2013, a 2-2 tie with Tottenham Hotspur, he went on to become a free agent in the summer after his Chelsea contract expired, has been without an employer ever since but, after a successful trial under Harry Redknapp's watch he - Yossi Benayoun, a 33-year-old veteran of the Premier League - has joined Queens Park Rangers.
He told the club's official website: 'I am delighted everything is done and am very pleased to join QPR. I have been training here for two weeks and now I can't wait to get involved and help the team.'
One of the main reasons Benayoun was eager to sign for the Championship side, who share top spot of the division with Burnley, was because of Redknapp. He continued: 'The manager was a very big factor for me. He showed me from the beginning that he really wanted me, and he is someone I have always wanted to play for so I am very happy.
'I have played in the Premier League for the last eight years and I enjoy England very much. The Championship is also a great league and I am looking forward to playing in it and helping QPR build on a great start to the season.'
Benayoun won a Europa League winner's medal with Chelsea.
