Ex-Chelsea boss tells Napoli: Not impossible to defeat Arsenal

Roberto di Matteo has told Napoli it won't be easy to overcome Arsenal, but it is do-able.

A once manager of Chelsea has been encouraging their Champions League opponents, managed by the man who replaced him as boss at Stamford Bridge.

Champions League winning boss Roberto di Matteo has told the Italian media that Arsenal are not an impossible team to beat despite their current form.

Arsenal have won four and drawn one of their last five games, while Napoli have won just one of four since the international break.

Di Matteo told Italian newspaper Il Mattino:

"It will be difficult for Benitez's team, but not impossible.

"They have to score early and not suffer in the first half, then there is also the possibility that Marseille beat Borussia. In the Champions League nothing is taken for granted."

Di Matteo knows that more than most. When he took over at Chelsea the club were 3-1 down in a second round tie against Napoli.

His managerial appointment helped inspire the club to an unlikely win, and the rest is history - however Napoli won't have extra time to help them out tomorrow night.

We'd agree with Di Matteo, it's not impossible, but very difficult.

If our prediction that Arsenal will grab an early goal comes true however - then it may become impossible.
