Manchester City have an abundance of talent from back to front as Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, Alvaro Negredo, David Silva and Sergio Aguero all constitute a formidable spine.
The club's main flaw is their form away from home but they have otherwise been in tremendous attacking spirit, putting three past West Bromwich Albion, three against Swansea City, six against Tottenham Hotspur and seven past Norwich City since November.
It is perhaps because of this why they remain the favourites with the British football pundits, as Jamie Carragher confirmed on Sky Sports programme Monday Night Football yesterday evening: 'I think Manchester City are the best team and squad on paper.
'There's a six pointer where they play each other this weekend and that could make the difference,' he added.
When it came to who he'd like to most see take home the crown at the end of the season, Carragher claimed there could be only one side after Liverpool: 'I mean, I'd like to see Liverpool win it, but if not, I think we all would like to see Arsenal and that's the team.
'If they buy another striker in January because of the workload Olivier Giroud has, I'd like to see them do it if it wasn't for Liverpool.'
