Tottenham latest: Including Walker and Capoue

Some of the key stories surrounding Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.

Right-back Kyle Walker has said he wasn’t surprised that a reshuffled back line for Tottenham performed well in the 2-1 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday evening.

Walker also praised the desire of the team for coming from behind yet again to take all three points to make it two league wins on the bounce.

He told the club’s website: ‘We’ve got class players in there, no matter who plays.

‘Defensively, we work as a team with Hugo and we all pull together.

‘We showed great desire to come back from 1-0 down and full credit to the lads, we had to dig in deep and play our football.’

Etienne Capoue was singled out for praise by Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas for his performance at centre-half on Saturday evening.

AVB said: ‘Etienne deserves credit because he was looking for a performance like that and he gave it over the 90 minutes.

‘We spoke to him during the week, we all want him to succeed here and great performances like that mean he’s back on track. Everyone is extremely happy for him.’

There is no surprise that ITV have announced that Spurs FA Cup third round clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium will be televised. The match will take place on Saturday 4th January, kicking off at 5:15pm.

The Evening Standard has reported that both teams are to meet to discuss the ticket allocation for Spurs fans. Tottenham are entitled to 9,000 tickets for the game due to rules for cup games but in the a League Cup game at the Emirates Stadium in 2007, they were offered just over 5,000 tickets.
