Juventus considering Pirlo demands, Italian press reports

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus will decide by February whether or not they can meet Andrea Pirlo's contract terms.

Andrea Pirlo is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur and while Juventus have stressed their desire to keep him they are said to be deciding whether they can meet his demands.

Pirlo is playing some fantastic football in the twilight years of his career and Juve's decision to snap him up for free when his contract at AC Milan expired looks inspired.

But the Old Lady risks losing Pirlo the same way as his current deal runs out at the end of the season and there has been no agreement on an extension.

There have been reports that Spurs are waiting in the wings with a lucrative deal worth around £5m per season, but Juve aren't willing to let their man go.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the key factor is the length of the new contract in Turin.

The Italian newspaper insists that Pirlo is happy to remain at his current salary with Juventus but will only take a deal of three years or longer.

Pirlo is now 34 and Juventus are allegedly only willing to commit for two years - a decision which could see the Italian international leave.

It has also been rumoured that Chelsea and an unnamed Qatari side are in the market for the free-kick master.
