As AC Milan continue to falter, club President Silvio Berlusconi claims that his intervention is needed.
Milan's season now rests entirely on the Champions League where they need a point against Ajax in their final group game to book a place in the knockout stages.
The pressure on coach Massimiliano Allegri continues to grow, but Berlusconi believes he can directly influence results.
"Last year, after a disastrous first half of the season, I took more of an interest in Milan and we grabbed third place," he said at the launch of a new fan club in his honour called 'Forza Silvio'.
"I think that today's team need more of my help again."
Milan could turn to the January transfer market in a bid to turn their fortunes around.
The Diavolo have been linked to various signings including Granit Xhaka, Younes Kaboul, Romelu Lukaku and Ezequiel Lavezzi but there is also speculation that enigmatic striking star Mario Balotelli could leave the club.
