Fans react to Everton outplaying Arsenal on Twitter: Bring on Walcott!

Theo Walcott

The Gunners support have hit social media up to implore Arsene Wenger to bring on Arsenal's pacey danger man.

There are few teams who go to Arsenal's home, the Emirates Stadium, and head back to the locker rooms at half-time having imposed their own game onto their hosts and even dominating the Gunners.

Had it not been for defensive rock Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal may well have already conceded to Everton who, led by Romelu Lukaku, have been the sharper of the two sides in North London on Sunday, December 8.

After 45 minutes of play, Everton lead the statistics shading Arsenal by five attempts on goal to 3, successfully passing 276 times compared to the red and white side's 148 (a pass accuracy of 87% next to 76%) and have enjoyed far more touches on the ball (419 to 282).

Arsenal fans have expressed their shock over the manner in which Everton are out-hustling them on Twitter, yet believe they know how to turn the tide in the second half… by introducing fleet-footed substitute Theo Walcott, perhaps in place of Santi Cazorla.

Arsene Wenger, though, may not make too hasty a replacement as Arsenal appeared to better Everton for the final five minutes of the half, when the Gunners cannoned in an attempt on goal followed by a succession of chances, yet Tim Howard kept his side in the match.
