CONFIRMED: Arsenal & Everton line-ups - Wilshere starts, Toffees unchanged

Emirates Stadium 2

Here is how Arsenal and Everton will line-up for this afternoon’s match at the Emirates Stadium:

Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud

Subs: Fabianski, Monreal, Vermaelen, Walcott, Rosicky, Flamini, Bendtner

Everton starting XI: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Oviedo, Barry, McCarthy, Barkley, Pienaar, Mirallas, Lukaku

Subs: Robles, Heitinga, Osman, Stones, Deulofeu, Naismith, Jelavic

In arguably the game of the weekend, league leaders Arsenal entertain an Everton side fresh from their outstanding victory at Old Trafford last week.

Toffees manager Roberto Martinez has already called this afternoon’s match the acid test, and a victory for the visitors will prove without doubt that the Spaniard has taken them to another level after succeeding David Moyes.

But Arsenal will have other ideas, and will know that a victory will see them extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

Arsene Wenger will have sat back and enjoyed the carnage yesterday as most of the sides challenging the Gunners slipped up. But he will know just how tough today’s match will be.

Unbeaten in their last 12 top flight encounters with Everton, Arsenal will be hoping to keep their seventh clean-sheet in their last eight games, thus ensuring that undefeated record continues.

What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
