Arsenal transfer news: Coleman linked, Vermaelen will stay and Turkish wonderkid on radar

All the latest transfer gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal transfer news now and as is often the case the day one team plays another - an interchange of the respective clubs players is being proposed by one paper.

One area that Arsenal have to address is the right-back position. Bacary Sagna is still out of contract in the summer and is struggling to agree a new deal that is beneficial to both him and the club.

With that in mind plenty of right-backs have been linked with the club recently - but with The Gunners playing Everton this afternoon you might be able to guess who the man is being linked with a switch to The Emirates.

On this occasion it is Republic of Ireland’s swashbuckling full-back Seamus Coleman - who has been enjoying a rich vein of form for The Toffees over the past 12 months.

However he recently signed a new deal at Goodison Park and would cost well in excess of £10 million.

So this might just be a flash in the pan.

The same story also carries the news that Emmanuel Frimpong will be released at the end of the season. Injuries prevented his progress at the club and with his contract expiring in the summer he is expected to put himself in the shop window whilst on loan from January.

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen is going nowhere - Arsene Wenger has again reiterated.

The Belgian is said unhappy at his diminished role at The Emirates where he now plays back-up to Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

However Wenger has praised the Belgian stating:

"Thomas has handled it with dignity and professionalism. I'm not concerned that he might move because if he wants to do that he will come and see me, which he has not done."

Finally and Turkish wonderkid Hakan Calhanoglu has been linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal this morning.

The Hamburg teen has had a good season for the club so far and is now reportedly a target for two of the Premier League’s big-boys.
