Transfer talk: Featuring Everton Ribeiro, Berbatov and Ghoulam

Transfer news relating to Manchester United, Fulham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton.

Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has confirmed he will not stand in the way of striker Dimitar Berbatov should the Bulgarian want to leave the club in January.

The former Manchester United player has been linked with a move away from the club after his agent revealed he was unhappy at Craven Cottage.

And his boss now says he will not stand in his way if a transfer is his wish:

"I will never stand in the way of people's ambitions. He is an immense player that I think any manager would want in his team - especially me."

Everton Ribeiro is again being linked with Manchester United today. The Brazilian Footballer of the Year had an exceptional season with Cruzeiro as they cantered to the Campeanato Brasileiro title this season.

Rated at around £15 million his agent says that talks are ongoing while the club refute such claims.

Everton defender Sylvain Distin has no desire to retire at the end of the season - and instead hopes to sign another extension to his deal at Goodison Park. His contract with the club expires at the end of the campaign - and at 36 this month it was rumoured he could call it a day.

But he has made his intention to carry on very clear.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton were all apparently on a double scouting mission last night as Saint-Etienne took on Rennes.

All three clubs were said to be looking at Les Verts left back Faouzi Ghoulam - as they look at options considering the precarious situation they find Patrice Evra, Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines in.

But another player reportedly caught the eye. 19-year-old holding midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko put in an excellent performance for Les Rouges et Noirs as they won 3-1.

Finally, and Standard Liege have confirmed Arsenal’s interest in their talented striker Michy Batshuayi. The 20-year-old is banging in the goals at the moment and now the Belgian side have made it clear that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player:

“We know that Arsenal are one of many clubs who follow Michy.”
