Three goals shipped AND a booking - Stoke make it a birthday to forget for John Terry

John Terry would have been hopeful of a birthday present at the Britannia Stadium but Oussama Assaidi and co. made it a day to forget.

John Terry turned 33 today.

Maybe that is why he let in three goals. And was booked. And was on the losing side as Chelsea fell to their first league defeat against Stoke since 1975.

Indeed, it was a birthday to forget for Terry - and the Blues skipper will now be fearing the worst as far as the title race is concerned.

Yes, Chelsea are still well in the mix for the Premier League trophy - but their defensive frailties need to be sorted out. Fast.

Arsenal could extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points tomorrow, while Liverpool have already leapfrogged the Blues into second after their 4-1 win over West Ham.

What does Terry have to look forward now that he is 33, meanwhile?

Well, the good news is he will not be going back to the Britannia Stadium anytime soon.
