Frimpong: I will injure Arsenal team-mates before World Cup

The Gunners midfielder has jokingly claimed he will hurt the German players in the Emirates Stadium squad to help Ghana.

There is never a dull moment with Emmanuel Frimpong on Twitter, with the Arsenal man renowned for his outlandish comments on social media.

The 21-year-old’s thoughts are sometimes foolish, inappropriate but more often than not funny, and his latest creation will cause a stir in Arsene Wenger’s dressing room.

After the World Cup draw, which partnered Germany and Ghana in Group G, Frimpong has jokingly suggested that he is ready to take action.

The midfielder said he was ready to injure Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker in training to help his nation get through the pool.

Frimpong is something of a cult figure with the Arsenal fans and his larger than life character on Twitter is sure to endear him to the Emirates Stadium faithful.

Regardless of the German players that will be going to the World Cup, the Arsenal midfielder needs to start getting regular first-team football if he has any ambitions of making the tournament himself.

Frimpong made his debut for Ghana back in March against Sudan, but faces a task to get into the African nation’s squad for the tournament in Brazil.

A January loan move is necessary for the Ghanian to make the World Cup and potential step out against his German Arsenal team-mates.
