Chelsea target Falcao left out for Monaco this weekend

The Colombian striker will miss the Ligue 1 clash against Nantes, as speculation over his future in France continues.

Radamel Falcao’s situation at Monaco shows no sign of being clarified, as the Ligue 1 side have confirmed that the predatory striker will miss Sunday’s clash against Nantes.

Speculation in both the British and French press have stated that the Colombia international has already grown restless at the club, who he only signed for in the summer.

Talk of moves to Real Madrid and Chelsea have filled newspapers throughout Europe, while the player has failed to clarify his current state of mind.

Monaco have released a statement confirming that Falcao will miss this weekend’s game, with injury coined as the reason.

"Radamel Falcao is continuing his rehabilitation from pain in his thigh muscle,” a club statement reads.

"Though the situation has improved there remains moderate pain.

"The club wishes to exercise precaution, and will not allow a return to competition until clinical tests, additional tests and field tests come back normal."

Chelsea are thought to be at the front of the queue to sign the lethal marksman, with Jose Mourinho still in the market for a top-notch striker to lead the west London side’s attack.

As Falcao misses action for the Ligue 1 side the speculation is set to continue, with his name sure to be in a lot of media reports this January come the transfer window.
