Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still flirting with Arturo Vidal even though he has committed to Juventus, according to the latest quotes in Tuttosport.
Arsenal and Manchester United were both said to be considering bids for the Chilean international who has been instrumental in Juventus' success so far this season.
As the volume of the speculation grew, Juventus moved to tie their new hero to the club and persuaded him to put pen to paper on a contract extension until 2017.
While the deal doesn't necessarily exclude a transfer, it is an indication that Vidal is happy in Turin and Juve would be likely to demand an astronomical fee.
However, a report in Tuttosport quotes Wenger singing Vidal's praises to the Chilean press, suggesting that the French boss may still be smitten with him.
"He is an incredible player who is constantly growing," the Arsenal boss said.
"Chile have a very strong national team with Alexis Sanchez but especially with Vidal.
"They will give a hard time to the big teams at the World Cup and showed that in the friendly against England winning 2-0."
Vidal seems like an unlikely target for Arsenal but Manchester United have a more apparent need for his services should they be willing to table a mammoth offer.
