In our newest feature ‘at the end of the day’ Stephen Pickering gives his opinion on this weekend's games. Leeds United, Watford, Derby County, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest feature.
Leeds United play at home against a Watford side currently desperate for a win. On the other hand, Leeds United are a side full of confidence at the minute, pushing for a top 6 spot.
Leeds could only register 35% of the possession against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night but still ran out 2-0 winners. Watford on the other hand have been playing completely differently, usually controlling possession but not seeing it in the end result.
Watford for me have the better team on paper, and their bad luck won't go on forever - usually it's the games you expect very little from that end up turning your fortunes around.
I am also backing Sheffield Wednesday to pull off another shock win in their match against Nottingham Forest. The Reds have endured a tiresome week with signals that frustrations are reaching boiling point, as Billy Davies slammed a photographer for... well, for taking pictures!
Wednesday pulled off a surprise win against Leicester mid-week thanks largely to the brilliance of on-loan Sunderland striker Connor Wickham.
I expect him to carry on in similar fashion against Forest and I would back him to to do the business over the recently leaky Forest defensive unit.
And finally, there is a huge game in the Championship as 4th meets 6th.
Derby County are looking to make it 5 wins in 5, whereas Blackpool will hope to put their indifferent form to bed having won 2, lost 2 and drawn 2 of their last 6.
The preparation couldn't have been much worse for Blackpool as they were comfortably turned over by Yeovil mid-week, picking up 3 red cards in the process.
And as Derby are currently the highest goalscorers in the division, they will need no excuse to put on another emphatic attacking display, and run out comfortable winners.
