Manchester United transfer news: £60,000-a-week man to return to former club in January?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

Following yesterday’s reports that Manchester United were keen to offload Anderson – either on loan or in a permanent deal – the Mirror claims his former club Porto want to temporarily take him back in January.

The Brazilian midfielder has failed to live up to expectations since his switch to Old Trafford six years ago. And with little chance of now becoming a United regular, a loan switch to the club where he made his name could be a viable option.

Given that David Moyes is reportedly keen on a number of Porto players, expect some kind of swap deal to be mooted in the coming days.

In other news, the same paper reports on previous quotes from summer target Ander Herrera, claiming that he has no intention of leaving Athletic Bilbao.

Whether Moyes remains interested in a player he reportedly refused to pay the release-clause for back in September remains to be seen. But with the likes of Koke and Nemanja Matic regularly thrown into the mix, any interest in Herrera may well be in the past.
