Wenger on Ozil: 'He is THE man when it comes to…'

Arsene Wenger Looks On

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger still believes he made the right investment by signing Ozil.

Ozil received criticism for his inconsistent displays in mid-October and mid-November.

But overall he became a great contributor of Arsenal’s attack recording three goals and eight assists since joining the Gunners.

Furthermore he was rewarded twice with man of the match and registered 29 key passes in his last 10 games.

Only his rating raises concern. There are some games were he seems to be lost on the pitch, like the first Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund or the match against Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger still believes he made the right investment by signing the German international. In an interview prior to Arsenal facing Hull City Wenger said: "When it comes to key passes he is the man.

“When he has the ball I [know as a player I can] make the run. It's what you call understanding, you understand that there are situations where he will see you and where he'll deliver the perfect weight of the pass.”

“The Flamini goal [at Cardiff] is a perfect example of that. It's a combination of vision and weight of the pass. Of course it's not a coincidence that in every league he plays, he has the most assists because he has those two qualities.”

But Wenger still thinks Ozil has a lot to improve referring to his comments a week ago where he said: “He is a young player, he is 25 years old so of course there is a lot of room for improvement for him.”
