The 19 year old winger was the subject of intense speculation after a contract dispute with Sporting, and Chelsea were regularly linked with a €10m swoop for the Portugal Under 21 international, but he eventually settled his future by signing for Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Chelsea went on to sign a number of attacking players, with Andre Schurrle, Willian and Christian Atsu joining the club, though the latter went straight out on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem. The latest video from Bruma's time with Galatasaray will give Chelsea fans food for thought.
Facing Gaziantep BB, Bruma picked the ball up on the right hand side and proceeded to slalom his way through the defence at great speed, eventually rounding the goalkeeper, beating him again before having a shot blocked. However, once he rounded the keeper, there were a number of Galatasaray players up in support who he should've passed to in order to notch a goal.
The chance was wasted, but there are two ways to look at Bruma's run. The first is to treat this as simple inexperience when it came to the final stage, and to appreciate his sensational run to set up the chance in the first place - something very few players can do. The other is to think Bruma is a selfish player who will put himself before his team mates. The clip below shows how the chance played out.
