United manager and former Everton boss David Moyes expects Everton fans to ‘respect’ his feats.
"I have got a job to do for Manchester United while Everton supporters have to support their team, which they have always done. Things could maybe have been done a little differently but that is football. I have great respect for Everton, their players, their chairman and their supporters,” said Moyes.
“If I had not received the call from Sir Alex [Ferguson] four weeks from the end of the season I'm sure I would still be working there now. I had a contract and was deciding what my future was going to be at Everton and how we were going to take the club forward.”
United midfielder Darren Fletcher played 90 minutes for the U21’s on Monday night, a significant step on his road to recovery from a bowel condition.
In transfer news, The Mirror claims that United are ‘back in’ for Wesley Sneijder with a ‘swap offer’ that could see winger Nani move in the opposite direction to Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Barcelona star Pedro could move to United or Liverpool.
In other news, former United coach and Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant Mike Phelan is ‘close’ to being appointed as manager of Wigan following the dismissal of Owen Coyle last weekend.
