Liverpool latest: Barca links, 'keepers Spain move? XI for Norwich?

Some of the key stories surrounding Liverpool Football Club on this Wednesday evening as they host Norwich City at Anfield in the Premier League.

A lot of Liverpool’s news and rumours this evening seem to also involve La Liga giants Barcelona.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been quoted as saying he would love to rejoin Barcelona for next season. The Spanish keeper currently has three years left on his contract at Liverpool and is currently on loan at Serie A side Napoli, with Brendan Rodgers preferring Simon Mignolet.

'Barca is a top club and Victor Valdes' departure will have alerted other candidates so a return will be very difficult. Right now I'm not thinking about it. I was fortunate to play there once and I consider myself privileged to have done that.'

The Daily Star is reporting that Liverpool’s hopes of getting trying to land full back Martin Montoya may have suffered a setback with Barcelona vice-president Josep Bartomeu saying he would like to keep hold of the player.

Bartomeu has said he would like to keep hold of winger Christian Tello who has also been a reported target of Liverpool.

The Barca vice-president is quoted as saying: ‘Tello and Montoy could leave if they won’t play more? We like their ambition. They should continue to fight.’

The Daily Express has reported that Liverpool, along with Arsenal are interested in Pedro. The 26-year-old is believed to have a £125m clause in his contract so a loan move would look the more likely outcome.

Ex-Liverpool striker John Aldridge has Tweeted what he believes to be Liverpool’s team for the Premier League match against Norwich City tonight.

Liverpool are keen to put the disappointment of Sunday’s defeat to Hull City behind them. If the team that has been Tweeted is correct then Joe Allen, Daniel Agger and Philippe Coutinho will return to the starting line-up for Lucas Leiva, Kolo Toure and Victor Moses.

The line-up tweeted was: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Flanagan, Allen, Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez.
