Arsenal target Yohan Cabaye linked again with PSG

PSG manager Laurent Blanc wants to reinforce the middle of the field and Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye is reportedly on Blanc’s list.

Paris Saint-Germain are apparently chasing Yohan Cabaye race again. There were rumours that the Ligue 1 champions made an £20m just last season. Cabaye is still playing in Premier League for Newcastle United so obviously it didn’t work out, but that could change next summer.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc wants to reinforce the middle of the field according to German sports magazine Sport Bild. As we reported earlier his top priority is former Manchester United player Paul Pogba. But he might not stop there. Newcastle United’s midfield star Yohan Cabaye, who is linked to Arsenal and Manchester United as well, is on Blanc’s list as well.

Laurent Blanc as a history with Cabaye coaching him for two years as the French national team manager. So the current PSG director knows about Cabaye’s talent.

The 27-year-old French international, who has topped his recent solid performances with two assists and two goals in his last nine games, said very distinctly that he misses playing in the Champions League.

“I miss the Champions League. I’ll finish this season with Newcastle and concentrate on the coming months and then we’ll see.”

Alan Pardew, Newcastle United boss, tried to change the obvious meaning of Cabaye’s comments by saying:

“But if you were to ask me if I wanted to play in the Champions League, then I would tell you 'absolutely, yes'. And that's what Yohan wants to do, of course he does. But we want him to do that here.”

The Magpies could cash in. That wouldn’t be so bad, and for France, having Yohan Cabaye playing Champions League ahead of the World Cup would certainly be welcome, making it a popular move in his homeland.

Popular in the North East of England however, certainly not.
