Derby and Wigan was the Championship game to watch for Manchester United fans as twins Will and Michael Keane lined up on different sides.
Despite not getting on the pitch Michael Keane would have been the happier player coming away from Lancashire with three points and now sit 5th in the League.
Nick Powell got a goal for Wigan but it wasn't enough to save manager Owen Coyle's job and had to accept his fate after a poor run of form had seen Wigan fans come to the end of their tether.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Jesse Lingard and Tyler Blackett both played a part in two people losing their jobs. Jesse Lingard helped end the managerial career of Gary Flintcroft at Barnsley with a 3-0 win.
Tyler Blackett played a part in the Blackpool side that finally sealed manager Dave Jones fate in Sheffield after only recording one win in sixteen games!
Federico Macheda is proving quite the player for Doncaster as they pulled off one of the shock results of the weekend, as Doncaster felled promotion favourites QPR and Ryan Tunnicliffe proved instrumental in their 1-0 win over Charlton.
In League One Manchester United duo Ben Amos and Tom Lawrence both turned up for Carlisle United vs a very Tottenham Hotspur heavy Swindon Town. The Swindon team proved to have too much for Carlisle and were victims of a 3-1 defeat.
Overseas, there was a very first goal for Marnick Vermijl as he opened the scoring for NEC as they beat AZ in the Eredivisie. Angelo Henriquez started upfront for Real Zaragoza and participated in a 1-0 win, but unfortunately couldn't get on the scoresheet himself.
And in Portugal midfielder Bebe played 13 minutes of football in a game I guess he would rather forget, as Sporting Lisbon ran out 4-0 winners.
