Richards 'offers himself' to AC Milan, Italian press claim

Micah Richards

There are rumours in Italy that Micah Richards has offered his services to AC Milan.

Milan newspaper Il Giorno is reporting that Manchester City's Micah Richards is determined to join AC MIlan.

The reports claim that Richards has somewhat unconventionally contacted Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani directly as he is so keen to make the transfer.

Richards has struggled for playing time at City this term and his contract runs out in June 2015.

It is believed that the England international's relationship with former teammate and current Milan striker Mario Balotelli could play a significant part in any move.

Richards is said to be worth around £8.5m, which may price him out of Milan's price range.

However, Il Giorno points out that if Richards isn't seen as a pivotal man by Manuel Pellegrini, a much lower sum may be deemed acceptable.

Richards may have to accept a pay cut if he is to relocate to Lombardy but that is unlikely to be a stumbling block should he be determined for a fresh start.
